There is a four-track cassette version of ‘Master Mind’ around somewhere, and it is quite different, but I had to re-record it the second I got the four-track mini-disc recorder. The albums previous to this one were cloudier, and the work involved in bouncing and mixing four tracks never paid off quite as much because the quality continually diminished. When you’re limited to four tracks (in comparison, many studio’s have at least 16) it takes a lot of ingenuity to make a song sound ’full’. This is the first album that really sounded ’full’. At the same time, it’s quite eclectic, which is what makes it a favorite amongst myself and fans alike. |
