The thing I like about this one is, it starts off with a song that not only challenges my guitar ability (which is just average being self taught), but also happens to be a song I can really play well live (and yes, I would like another glass please).  Some friends and I went skiing, had an awesome time at a lodge named Gladstone, the inspiration for song 3.  While on the trip, I managed to lose control of the van I was driving, and nearly kill us all.  Fortunately we made it, and drove all the way home with the steering wheel turned hard to the left (bent the shit out of the front axle/struts/etc..).  A lot of the songs on this album have direct relevance to my life and things close to me, particularly ‘The Letter You Sent’.  Also, it was fun re-recording ‘Doe a Deer’ from the concept album The Legend.  I think the mysterious theme that transcends throughout ‘The Pines’, ‘Great Gator Bait’, and ‘Tatzelwurm’ make the album.
